dog day night out
4/5/11
Admittedly, I should have probably used a more recognizable Pacino quote for this comic than this line from Dog Day Afternoon, but I foresee this being a running joke, and Kevin has, in fact drunkenly shouted “Attica!” at me on more than one occasion.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Kevin’s eyes light up as much as they did when I broached the subject of doing a running gag about him turning into Pacino when he drinks. He immediately ran home and started googling great Pacino lines for me to choose from.
There’s just something funny to me about the concept of Kevin not only turning into Al Pacino when he drinks, but the fact that it could be any one of his characters.. you’d have hilarious Scent of a Woman kind of nights.. and then you’d have terrifying Devil’s Advocate kind of nights. Honestly, the possibilities are endless.
I’m starting to worry about the real lack of entries on the contest. Sadly however, I’ve received three different correspondences regarding the contest, all along the line of “Hey, I can’t draw, so I’m not going to enter the contest.. but here’s what I WOULD have drawn, had I entered.” And truthfully, all three ideas have been hilarious.
I can’t stress enough that the contest isn’t about the art, it’s about the concept. I know you guys are hilarious, and obviously a little twisted.. I really want to see what you come up with.
I also really want to give away a super awesome prize to the winner. I mean it, and you know how rarely I say “super”..
If you’re still coming up with ideas, then brainstorm away. If you can’t remember what the contest is about, see the blog here for details.
