the great quake

11/8/11

So apparently, here in Oklahoma, we’ve been hit by two sizable earthquakes in the past week.

Saturday morning, I wake up and check facebook, as I ordinarily do, only to find out that I slept through an earthquake.

Yup. Slept right through it.

That’s fine though, it was a small one. They’ve hit Oklahoma before. I’ve never felt one, but they’ve hit before. Crazier things have happened.

Saturday night, Shelly and I had gone to Tulsa to have dinner with my parents and on the way home, her mom calls to ask if we felt the second earthquake that day.

Nope.

Driving and we didn’t feel a thing.

But apparently everyone else we knew did.

I’ve never been so jealous of those touched by an (albeit small) natural disaster. I just want to feel an earthquake.

So yeah, I got to thinking how funny it would have been if Kevin would have been at the bar when it hit, only to think that it wasn’t an earthquake at all. When the idea hit me, I thought it would be funny if he just assumed that he was so violently drunk, he was having a seizure (still might have been the funnier of the two ideas..) but I ended up changing it because him thinking that Tahlequah was being hit by terrorists seemed more comical.

I mean, I laughed.

In other news, this is comic 350. Remember when I used to half heartedly celebrate every 50th comic? Now it just seems so ordinary to put out two a week that milestone comics like this just seem routine. Who knows though, when I hit 500 I want to do something big.

I’m thinking live sacrifice, but it’s still a ways off, so plans are subject to change.

BYOB either way though.
